Pass It On

If you’re reading this, I am going to assume you have at least some sort of passion for something outdoors. Whether it be hunting and fishing or just being out in God’s beautiful creation. If you’re like me, it’s all of the above plus any other activity that may provide food for my table and/or food for my soul. I’m often blessed to accomplish both. There are many reasons why a person would choose to venture off in the wild, but one thing is unanimous, we all do so with the desire to be successful in our adventures. For me personally, I do so to harvest food for my family, but it is also my sanctuary. I set out to not only harvest vittles but to intentionally have eyes to see and ears to hear all of God’s splendor He has for me to experience. Over the years though, I’ve developed a strong passion (and the practical ability to be successful) for sharing it all with anyone who desires to know. Now, I’m definitely not even close to the level of many outdoor enthusiasts out there but our freezers and bellies stay full and if I can help someone else do the same that’s even better! I think it’s important to be willing to share information, techniques and even locations if the need arises. Especially with kids and young adults. There’s just something about getting other people in the action that really takes it to another level for me. As a kid, I was always taught to do the exact opposite and I did so for many years. In my early twenties I lost access to the family farm I had hunted my whole life. This took hunting to a new level as all the land I had to hunt was public. This meant I had to learn the habits and patterns of the animals I chase rather than just go out to a family spot and harvest an animal. There have been a few different experiences with other outdoorsmen that have really helped in doing so. From just sharing tactics to information to a few guys taking me along on outings. I am forever grateful for all those people who took time out of their activities to pass on what they’ve learned to me. As of the last few years, I’ve had a strong desire to do the same. I encourage all I come in contact with to give back like this in some way or another. There are many individuals out there who just need someone to help point them in the right direction. The moment you do share these great past times with someone else, could be the defining moment for many other people along the way, you never know. I like to think that sharing info and spots will eventually make a lifetime of memories for at least a few families rather than thinking I’m just adding one more person to contend with out on the public land adventures. If possible, I encourage anyone reading to get involved locally, helping men and women get out there and be successful in the great outdoors. You never know who's and how many lives will change as a result. I know generosity from just a few good people has definitely changed mine!

Love God and Love people my fiends! Happy Easter….Praise God for the sacrifice made for us ALL!
